Recently finished..... The watercolour above is a view from Norfolk of Cley Windmill and is for sale - please see my portfolio page for details.
Whenever we are in the Isle of Wight I paint some smaller studies, and take many photographs for use in the future. I have completed several paintings since we returned from Seaview last August; you can see them on my Portfolio page, as well as a selection on the "Isle of Wight" page. Have a look! Many are for sale from as little as £30. |
Commissioned workAbove is a photograph of Lesley & Michael with their painting of St Mary's, which was a gift from the congregation. The commission was top secret!
You can see a close-up of the painting on the portfolio page. There are two more new watercolours of the exterior of St Mary's, Pinchbeck, plus two of the interior, on the portfolio page; all are for sale. I have painted several Top Secret commissions for Christmas and birthday presents. If you want a work by me for a special present please get in touch to discuss the options. Alternatively, have a look on my portfolio page to see if one of my completed works takes your fancy. Most are for sale, some from as little as £25. |
Yes, this photo (above left) really is of me, but taken back in 1987, before I went grey! It was at my first exhibition, at The Casson Gallery in Eastbourne College. I was chosen for a post-graduation exhibition with two fellow graduates of Reading University. It was arranged and hung by the Head of Art at Eastbourne College at the time; he wanted to show his A level students the type of work they might be producing in four years' time, should they do a Fine Art degree.
The work behind me is one of a pair depicting the riots which had occurred during the mid 1980s. The photo of me and my two paintings (above right) was taken at the private view for South Holland Open Arts in March 2016. The paintings are different views of St Mary's Church in Pinchbeck, so rather more tranquil subject matter than in 1987! |
Spring 2016: A typical scene in my "studio" aka the kitchen table! On the left is a work in progress as well as (in the background) a finished painting. The one on the easel is the Yacht Club at sunset, Seaview, taken from a photo that I took in August 2015.
The photo on the right shows the same painting a few weeks later, plus a couple of smaller acrylics, and a newly-started watercolour. Oh, and an essential glass of Merlot! And finally, in the centre, you can see the finished article, which is also featured on my portfolio page and is now for sale, either framed (in a thick white wood frame - very effective) or unframed. More to come soon...............and check out the "sales and Commissions" page too. |
